Magnesium IV Add-On

Magnesium is $25 added to any drip. It is the ingredient most people are actually after when they book a migraine IV. It goes into the same bag as whatever you booked and adds no time to the visit. A licensed registered nurse handles it, anywhere across Dallas-Fort Worth, seven days a week.

What Magnesium Does

Magnesium is a mineral involved in hundreds of processes in your body. The ones people notice are muscle function, nerve function, and sleep quality.

It is also one of the electrolytes you lose through sweat, which is why it comes up so often after heavy training or a long day in the Texas heat.

Dietary intake runs below recommended levels for a significant share of adults, largely because the foods richest in it, leafy greens, nuts, seeds, and whole grains, are not staples in most people’s diets.

Already In These Drips

Magnesium is in most of our vitamin drips and it is the base of both migraine options.

Who Adds It

People who get migraines. Magnesium is the reason both of our migraine drips exist in the form they do, and it is the most researched nutrient in that space. Anyone adding it to Relief Essentials at $125 after a hot day or heavy sweating, since it is one of the electrolytes lost most. Athletes adding it to Athletic Recovery at $325, where it is not included. Muscle function and sleep quality both matter more during a heavy block than people credit. People with poor sleep, which is one of the more common individual reasons we hear. Anyone dealing with muscle cramps or tension, though persistent cramping is worth a doctor visit rather than a standing drip.

Pairs Well With

Relief Essentials at $125 after heat or heavy training. Fluids plus magnesium covers most of what you lost.

Migraine drips, where extra magnesium on top of the base is a common request.

B-Complex at $25 when fatigue and muscle tension are both in play.

Athletic Recovery at $325, where magnesium is not included.

Honest Expectations

Magnesium is one of the better supported ingredients on our menu, particularly in the migraine context. That is a real thing and we are comfortable saying it. What it is not is a treatment for migraine as a condition. It may help with an episode. Recurring migraines belong with a doctor who can look at the whole pattern. It also is not a sleep aid in the way people sometimes hope. It supports normal function in systems involved in sleep. That is a smaller claim than making you sleep. IV magnesium can cause a warm flushing sensation while it runs, and occasionally a brief drop in blood pressure. Your nurse controls the rate and will slow it if you feel anything, which resolves it. Tell her rather than waiting it out. If you have kidney disease or any heart rhythm condition, speak to your doctor first and tell us during the health review.

How It Is Given

Magnesium goes into the same IV bag as the drip you booked. Your nurse runs it at a rate that is comfortable and will adjust if you feel warm or flushed.

A licensed registered nurse places and monitors every drip. Before your visit, a provider reviews your health history and confirms what you booked is appropriate for you. Tell us about any medication you take, any condition you manage, and any prior reaction to an IV.

Mobile IV therapy is a wellness service and is not a substitute for emergency medical care. If you are having a medical emergency, call 911.

Magnesium In The Texas Heat

This add-on gets requested more here from June through September than at any other time of year, and there is a straightforward reason.

Magnesium leaves your body through sweat. A full day outside in a Texas August, a long run, a tournament weekend, or a shift on a job site all cost you more of it than most people replace. Fluids alone address the volume you lost. Magnesium addresses one of the things that went out with it.

That is why Relief Essentials at $125 plus magnesium at $25 is one of our more sensible summer combinations. It is $150 total, it targets exactly what heat takes out of you, and it skips the vitamins that are less relevant to that specific problem.

If you are cramping regularly rather than occasionally, that is worth a doctor visit rather than a standing appointment with us.

Magnesium Questions

  • Why is magnesium in the migraine drips?

It is the ingredient most associated with migraine support and the most studied nutrient in that space. Both of our migraine drips are built around it.

  • Which drips already have it?

Most of them. The exceptions are Relief Essentials, Beauty IV, and Athletic Recovery.

  • Why do I feel warm during it?

A flushing sensation is common with IV magnesium and relates to infusion rate. Your nurse will slow it down and it settles.

  • Will it help me sleep?

It supports normal function in systems involved in sleep. It is not a sedative.

  • Should I add it after training?

It is one of the more sensible add-ons after heavy sweating, since magnesium goes out with sweat.

  • Is there anyone who should avoid it?

Anyone with kidney disease or a heart rhythm condition should speak to their doctor first. Mention it during the health review either way.

  • Can I add extra to a migraine drip?

Yes, and people do. Ask your nurse whether it makes sense for you.
